Q&A - Pawax

Tell us about your story and how you started producing music.
My first approach to music production was back in the days when I was 14. My brother introduced me to one of the first versions of Fruity Loops, that was really funny and messy for me. I started to release my music in a professional way in 2016 moving forward and developing my own path. I like to hear a lot of different music genres and this helped me to have different influences on my tracks.
What has been your biggest inspiration?
When I started to produce music in 2016 there were a lot of big figures that inspired me. On the podium, I would put Martin Garrix, Hardwell & Diplo.
What DAW do you use to produce?
Currently, I use Fruity Studio (FL 20).
What are your top 5 plug-ins in your projects?
For the songwriting side, I cannot produce without the king, Serum and Sylenth1. For the mix & mastering flow my favourites plug-ins are FabFilter Pro-Q 3, OTT and iZotope Ozone 5/7.
What are you looking in a track when it comes to playing it as a DJ?
It depends if I've to play it in the club is important to have something with a powerful rhythm and strongly danceable. Do not forget to boost the sub guys ;)
How many tracks are you currently working on?
This is an interesting question! Currently I'm working on a bunch of new tracks, including a lot of collaborations with awesome artists. I've just signed 4 new tracks in 2021 that they will be out in the next months. For this year my first goal is to focus more on the quality of my tracks!
How is your creative process? Do you start with a beat and then work on melodies? Opposite? Tell us the secret
No secrets today. My songwriting processes are different, usually, I started with a chord progression or with a rough melody idea then I develop the entire track. Sometimes the process starts with a specific sound or preset.
What is your current music production setup?
Currently, my studio setup includes a pair of Rokit 6 monitors, a pair of Sennheiser HD25, my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (audio sound card), a Samsung curved monitor 27", the Moog Sub Phatty synthesizer and my Asus laptop. That's all!
