Q&A - Pvrge

Pvrge

Tell us about your story and how you started producing music.

When I was about 13 years old, I saw a friend making music with FL Studio. He gave me the program and I started to build my first songs and melodies. I have tried many music genres like Hip Hop, Dubstep or Trap but now I got stuck with house music. I love to be creative and create new sounds. In the last 2 years, I decided to publish my songs on SoundCloud, Spotify and YouTube. I also started DJing where I had the chance to play my own songs and remixes in clubs in Hamburg and I love it.

What has been your biggest inspiration?

My biggest inspiration is the big artists I look up to, like Tchami and other DJs. His music inspires me so much!

What DAW do you use to produce?

I only use FL Studio.

What are your top 5 plug-ins in your projects?

My top 5 plugins are Serum, OTT, some FabFilter plugins like the EQ, Saturn or Limiter, Valhalla Room and Ozone 9.

What are you looking in a track when it comes to playing it as a DJ?

I think it depends on the club, but groovy drums and basslines are always welcome!

How many tracks are you currently working on?

At the moment I'm working on more than 4 tracks.

How is your creative process? Do you start with a beat and then work on melodies? Opposite? Tell us the secret.

Most of the times I start my tracks with the drums and a catchy bassline, but it depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm searching for the vocals and build the melody and drums around it.

Midi controller: Novation Launchkey Mini Mk2
